BOTANICAL PAINTING: Andalucian autumn fruits and flowers

DATES: 15th - 22nd October 2019

TUTOR: Mariella Baldwin

VENUE: Moclín, Granada

COURSE DETAILS: Andalucia in the late summer and early autumn puts on a glorious display. October is a season of abundant fruit and stunning floral displays. Autumn fruits and berries are to be found everywhere across Granada Province, and the leaves of trees are starting to turn rich and vibrant shades of red and gold.

This course will allow participants to explore, using watercolour, indigenous flowers and fruits as they change from their summer to autumn plumage. There will be plenty of opportunity to get out into the stunning countryside surrounding the village of Moclín to get inspiration, and much of the work will be done in the large studio at the Centro de Interpretación Comarcal in the village.

During the week, we will take a trip into Granada to visit the Museo de Bellas Artes in Granada, and at the end of the week the ayuntamiento de Moclín is staging an exhibition in strategic corners of the village, and participants will be able to exhibit the work they have done during the course.

This is the perfect watercolour course for both beginners and artists with some experience, and is designed to draw inspiration directly from the colours of Andalucia as well as immerse participants in a very traditional way of life in a culturally and historically rich village.

Cost: Price per person 1250€ for the week (approximately £1105) to include 5 days’ tuition, full-board accommodation and materials. Participants can, of course, bring their own materials if they wish. Flights and Alhambra tickets are not included.

Only 10 participating places available on this course.
